About Me

I was born in 1991 in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, which is also where I currently live. I’m a Christian, married to a wonderful woman, and have 3 crazy little kids.

I create software for a living, with a focus on backend servers. About 4 years ago, I discovered Elixir and mainly write in and about that, though I do have experience with Ruby on Rails and modern Javascript.

I’m an employee at Infinite Red. Definitely check us out if you need to build some software, especially if it has to do with mobile or web.

But please bear in mind that everything on this site is my own, and is not endorsed by any of my employers, past or present.

I’m an avid road cyclist and enjoy travelling with my family, as well as playing games (both analog and digital). In my spare time, I read and dabble in politics and economics.

My perspective is Christian, libertarian/voluntarist politically, free-market in economics, anti-war, pro-life, and socially conservative.

In general, I try to take a long-term view. Practically speaking, this means that I value:

  • Maintainable software
  • Sustainable profit
  • Repeatable processes and automation
  • Respectful conversation
  • Training & Documentation
  • Voluntary cooperation to solve problems
(I’m a big fan of Open Source!)
